“Doing twice the work in half the time and increasing your productivity can only be done by focusing on your tasks, scheduling your work and making priority lists”. Of course, we all need to focus to get our work done, but did you know that there is something like excessive focus?

Our brains can only take a certain amount of attention points per day. If we focus too much our energy decreases significantly. We often do things without thinking them through first which implicates that our work is not done properly.

This means that we, from time to time, have to take a break and go outside for 10 or 15 minutes. Work for a few hours and take a break. Go out, get some air! Furthermore, it is important to set realistic goals. Don’t let yourself snow in by too many tasks but set your priorities and make sure you finish the important tasks first.

On the other hand, sometimes it is not easy to stay focused. Boosting productivity is not always easy. These days you can find several apps that can restrict your access from Social Media sites for a few hours a day. The only thing you have to do is install a plugin or register online. ‘Productivity Owl’ for example, is a Google Chrome extension that I use. And have you heard of Gmail Offline? This is also an extension that helps you to increase your productivity. This extension allows you to read your mails but stops new mails coming into your mailbox so that you can stay focused.
